The Board of Trustees met at the Medina Township Office
located at 10628 N. Galena Road, Mossville, Illinois on June 12th, 2017
Purpose: Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting

Absent: Richard Clinch, Trustee
Other Officials and Township Staff Present: Frank Sturm II, Road Commissioner – Mandy Forbis, Office Manager – Mark Brabant, Assessor
Others In Attendance: 1 resident attended.
Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Dawson followed by pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Clerk, Garner, presented the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting held May 10th, 2017. Supervisor Dawson moved to approve, as presented, seconded by Trustee Gudat; followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.
Community Policing Report: Deputy Rials advised that Bike Patrol started first weekend of May. Multiple motor vehicle burglaries occurred in township with investigation ongoing. Will schedule patrols during Brad Wallin Memorial Baseball Tournament.
Supervisor Dawson opened floor for public input with no request received.
Correspondence & Reports
Supervisor, John Dawson:
- Investment Report: The Investment Report ending on June 12th, 2017 was accepted as presented by the board.
Road Commissioner, Frank Sturm, II:
- Did our street tour this past Friday. This year’s maintenance program will not be as large as last year.
- Will probably start interviewing for secretary within a couple of weeks. Thinking about cleaning and painting office, first.
Assessor, Mark Brabant:
Assessor reported receiving numerous complaints regarding property taxes. Report of overgrown lawn at 1616 Hendryx Lane was received. County has been advised that house is vacant.
Plan Commission, Brady Miller, Chairperson:
Not present to present report.
Trustee Parr reported that Don Thompson advised of an issue with water pressure in Galena Knolls, and shoulders of township roads are deteriorating. Supervisor Dawson reported that Illinois American is aware of issue and is addressing. Trustee Parr also inquired on landscaping drop off. Road Commissioner advised that the road district will only accept leaves and grass clippings except after major storm damage and is still considering when and if to re-open yard.
Adoption of Prevailing Wage:
Prevailing Wage Ordinance (Town): Supervisor Dawson moved that Ordinance No. PW-17-TWN be adopted, as required by statute; seconded by Trustee Molohon followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.
Prevailing Wage Ordinance (Road District): Road Commissioner Sturm ordained Ordinance No. PW-17-RD as required by statute.
Plan Commission Appointments: Supervisor Dawson presented for consideration Bruce Alkire, Frank Gerke, Cindy Greene, Brady Miller and Grant Garner to Plan Commission for 2017-2021 term of office. After discussing, Supervisor Dawson made motion to appoint Bruce Alkire, Frank Gerke, Cindy Greene, Brady Miller and Grant Garner to Plan Commission, seconded by Trustee Parr followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.
Pay Township Bills
Township/Road District Bills Audited: All bills of the Town and the Road District were audited and approved for payment. All bank accounts were reconciled and found to be in order. Trustee Molohon moved to pay the bills, seconded by Trustee Gudat followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote.
Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the board, Trustee Molohon moved to adjourn, seconded by Supervisor Dawson: followed by a unanimous “Aye” voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
