The Medina Township Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting

Call To Order: Supervisor Garner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm
Approval of Minutes: Mary presented the minutes from Regular Township Board Meeting of
May 2026. Shawn made a motion to approve the minutes, Luke seconded. The minutes were approved by a unanimous voice vote.
Community Policing Report: Deputy Davison gave the report for May. The township received 46 calls for service, including 3 criminal reports. There were 102 traffic stops made in the township. E-bikes are considered bicycles and must be on the right side of the road. Please use caution when passing these individuals.
Public Input: Residents from Parkside Lane spoke about a suspicious man knocking on doors reporting that a relative of the homeowner was in jail. He went to other doors when told the relative was not in jail. The deputy was notified of this behavior.

Department Correspondence:
Supervisor Shawn Garner:
- Investment Report: The report ending on June 10, 2026, was previously presented to the board.
- There are no General Assistance (GA) cases.
- There are no cases before the Plan Commission.
- The wooden picnic benches need repairs at Brookview Park.
- Since we have no GA cases, Shawn will submit a proposal on the possibility of Emergency Assistance at the next monthly meeting.
Road Commissioner Frank Sturm:
- Hickory Grove Rd posted speed limit is 30 mph. We will have to control speed with signage, speed humps/tables and enforcement.
- We are ordering parts for leaf machines now since they took so long to arrive last year.
- We are trying to do pothole repairs in between rain drops.
- Receiving calls for culvert replacement.
- Receiving calls about poor road conditions.
- Several trees have fallen lately.
- Have not received many complaints about locking the gate on the yard over the weekend.
Assessor: No report.
Plan Commission: No report .
Trustees: No report.
Township/Road District Bills: Shawn made a motion to pay the bills of the township. Cindy seconded. The motion was approved by a unanimous voice vote.
Adjournment: Shawn made a motion to adjourn, and Adam seconded it. The meeting adjourned at 7:03 pm.
