The Medina Township Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting

Purpose: Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting

Call To Order: Supervisor Garner called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm
Approval of Minutes: Approval of minutes was tabled until next month’s meeting.
Community Policing Report: Deputy Ben Davison gave the report for June 2024. There were 44 reports made involving 14 reports of crimes (10 original crimes). There were also 18 traffic stops made in the township.
Public Input: William Tingle with Sun Collectors provided information on solar power opportunities for residents.
Old Business: None
New Business: Consider, discuss and vote on grant application from CNA: We received a grant request from the Community Needs Agency for $1,000 in order to help with school supplies and backpacks for low–income families in the IVC school district. Mike Molohon made a motion to grant this request. It was seconded by Cam Parr. A roll call vote was taken: Shawn – Aye, Mike –Aye, Cam -Aye. The motion carries.

- Investment Report: the report ending on July 10, 2024 was previously presented to the board.
- There are no General Assistance cases pending.
- There is 1 case before the Plan Commission.

- Competed pothole repairs, our supplier ran out of patching materials. Will use hot mix for any additional potholes.
- Completed one round of mowing.
- Spray patching in preparation for seal coating has started.
- We have several culverts to replace and need to replace two dry wells in Cedar Hills Estates.
- Galena Knolls originally had wooden street signs which are in bad shape. We are in the process of starting to replace their signs. It will probably take 2-3 years to replace all of them, due to cost.
- Talked to the deputy about large motor home parked near intersection of Raintree Rd and Wood Ridge Ct.
- Some neighbors took care of the issue with the weather station in Georgetown.

Plan Commission: None
Trustees: Cam relayed residents’ request for the Road District to address clean-out of drywell at entrance of Galena Knolls. The Road Commissioner advised that this issue is on the list of projects. Mike proposed that the township purchase a lot from the road district. We would need to appraise the property, address utilities and consult with counsel.
Township/Road District Bills:
Mike made a motion to pay the bills of the township. Cam seconded. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote.
Adjournment:
Mike made a motion to adjourn, and Cam seconded it. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm.
