The Medina Township Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting

Present:  Shawn Garner, Supervisor

Others In Attendance: 4 residents

Call To Order: Supervisor Garner called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm

Approval of Minutes: Mary presented the minutes from Regular Township Board Meeting of 

March 2026. Shawn made a motion to approve the minutes, Adam seconded. The minutes were approved by a unanimous voice vote.

Community Policing Report: Deputy Davison gave the report for March 2026. There were 54 calls made involving 6 reports of crimes (2 original crimes). There were 65 traffic stops made in the township. Please lock your cars!!! Crimes of opportunity happen if we let them. With nicer weather more kids will be looking for these opportunities.

Department Correspondence:

Supervisor Shawn Garner:  

  1. Investment Report: The report ending on April 8, 2026, was previously presented to the board.
  2. There are no General Assistance (GA) cases. 
  3. There are no cases before the Plan Commission. 
  4. The Luthy parcels matter is on hold.
  5. IVCYA has submitted the necessary COI for their Park Agreement.
  6. No Park Agreement was received from Preseason Classic in time for this board meeting.
  7. Work has begun on Field 5 at the Ball Park.

Road Commissioner Frank Sturm: 

  1. There will be one Spring leaf pick-up starting Monday, April 13, weather permitting.
  2. Ordered 600 tons of salt for next year. Should hear back in late summer/fall.
  3. New work truck should be ready soon.
  4. No new news on the Staab Rd bridge, Frontier bill, tree removed in Alta.
  5. TIORMA came out to look at wind damage to the roof of the garage. They denied claim stating that the panel that was damaged was too old.
  6. Pat Meyer said IEPA will start the NPDES inspections soon. The following should be on our website: NPDES Annual Report, NOI, and a link to Tri-County.

 

Assessor: No report.

Plan Commission: No report .

Trustees: No report.

Township/Road District Bills: 

Cindy made a motion to pay the bills of the township. Adam seconded. The motion was approved by a unanimous voice vote.

Adjournment: Adam made a motion to adjourn, and Cindy seconded it. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:24 pm.
